Organizing for Ohio Coordinated Campaign Opens Columbus Field Office in German Village

Last Week, New Offices Also Opened in Youngstown, Chillicothe, Lorain, Athens, and Sandusky

Columbus, OH – Yesterday, the Organizing for Ohio Coordinated Campaign opened a new field office in the German Village neighborhood of Columbus, adding to the growing list of field offices and community spaces across the state. Organizing for Ohio is engaging Ohioans statewide to reelect Senator Sherrod Brown, flip the State Supreme Court, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot.

“With less than 100 days to go until Election Day, Ohio Democrats are fired up and ready to elect Democrats up and down the ballot this year,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chair Liz Walters. “The new Columbus office is just the latest sign of the growing momentum we’re seeing in Ohio as we get ready to win this November.”

“We are excited to add our German Village office to our already unprecedented grassroots operation,” said Organizing for Ohio Coordinated Director Mariah Gould. “As we approach November, our more than 3,000 volunteers and organizers are picking up momentum to make sure voters across Ohio are ready to get out and vote.”

The Organizing for Ohio campaign is organizing earlier than ever and talking to voters in every corner of the state with more than 3,000 volunteers and over 180,000 doors knocked so far with less than 100 days until Election Day.

Happy International Cat Day to Everyone Except JD Vance

Columbus, OH- Today, we’re wishing a happy International Cat Day to everyone, except JD Vance, who has repeatedly remarked that “childless cat ladies” are ruining our country and has doubled down on his comments when pressured.

Vance’s comments aren’t just weird and off putting- they’re dangerous.

“JD Vance’s “cat ladies” remarks show his desperation to create a scapegoat for our nation’s problems,” said Ohio Democratic Party spokeswoman Katie Seewer. “ If he’s looking for the real cause of our country’s problems, he should get a mirror.”

But instead of working towards real solutions for American families, here’s what JD Vance has been up to.

  • Called universal child care “class warfare against normal people”
  • Voted against protections for IVF.
  • Opposed a bill protecting same-sex and interracial marriages
  • And this is far from the first incident in his long history of disparaging people without kids.

And given multiple opportunities to apologize for his comments, the best he could do was reassure the American people that he has nothing against cats.

Meanwhile, vice presidential nominee and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has welcomed families from every background to Minnesota and led with policy that delivers for working families, like universal school lunch.

He’s even been a friend to cats on the campaign trail, unlike JD Vance who is probably just as off-putting to animals as he is to voters.

Voters have a choice in this election, and we know that they’re going to choose the ticket that’s standing with our families, not against them.

OEA President Calls Out Bernie Moreno After New Lawsuit Surfaces

Cleveland.com: Bernie Moreno Got Sued By An Employee Who Said He Didn’t Get Paid What He Was Promised. Here’s What Happened.

Columbus, OH – After Cleveland.com reported that Bernie Moreno faced another lawsuit from a former employee whom Moreno “stiffed out of money that Moreno personally promised him,” OEA President Scott DiMauro released the following statement:

“Ohio workers know we can’t trust Bernie Moreno to do what’s right for us, and this latest example of Moreno refusing to pay an employee what they were owed proves it,” said Scott DiMauro, OEA President. “Moreno has a pattern of stiffing his workers out of their pay and even shredded documents a judge ordered him to keep to get out of paying them. Moreno has a long record of short changing his own workers – if he’s elected, he won’t look out for us.”

Moreno has faced “a string” of lawsuits for mistreating his employees, including one lawsuit where he deliberately destroyed evidence he was legally required to keep to get out of paying his workers the overtime they earned.

Ohio AFL-CIO President Calls Out Bernie Moreno For Stiffing His Workers, Looking Out For Himself

Cleveland.com: Bernie Moreno Got Sued By An Employee Who Said He Didn’t Get Paid What He Was Promised. Here’s What Happened.

Columbus, OH – After Cleveland.com reported that Bernie Moreno faced another lawsuit from a former employee whom Moreno “stiffed out of money that Moreno personally promised him,” Ohio AFL-CIO President Tim Burga released the following statement:

“As President of the Ohio AFL-CIO, I can confidently say the choice for Senate in Ohio is easy. While Sherrod Brown looks out for Ohio workers, Bernie Moreno continues to show them that he only cares about himself,” said Tim Burga, Ohio AFL-CIO President. “Moreno was found by a jury to have cheated his workers out of earned pay and shredded documents during the litigation. He also sold Chinese-made vehicles that hurt Ohio workers, and then lied about it. With working people your word is your bond. Sherrod Brown’s word is good while Moreno has proven he can’t be trusted and will only look out for himself.”

Moreno has faced “a string” of lawsuits for mistreating his employees, including one lawsuit where he deliberately destroyed evidence he was legally required to keep to get out of paying his workers the overtime they earned.
