• U.S. Senate Republican candidate Bernie Moreno has shown Ohioans time and time again that he doesn’t care about us and will say or do anything if he thinks it will help him get ahead.

• He thinks he’s telling us what we want to hear, but really he’s showing us who he truly is: a liar looking out for himself.

• I’ve seen all I need to see.

• While Moreno lied about selling the Buick Envision, a car made in China that contributed to Ohioans losing their jobs, Sen. Sherrod Brown was fighting to prevent Ohio auto jobs from being shipped overseas.

• While Moreno refused to pay overtime to workers at his car dealership and destroyed evidence when his workers sued him for it, Brown was fighting to ensure Ohioans receive the wages they’ve earned.

• The contrast is crystal clear. Moreno is not someone we can count on to fight for us. He’s only looking out for himself.

• Ohio voters cannot trust U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, who has told lie after lie while on his campaign trail.

• He’s lying about fleeing socialism to his lies about selling Chinese-made cars to claiming over and over that he lived a rags-to-riches story, when in reality he grew up in a wealthy, well-connected family.

• While Bernie is trying to tell us what he thinks we want to hear, it’s clear he’s lying to try to sell us a different version of reality – and we aren’t buying what he’s selling.

• I know I can trust Sherrod Brown, who has always fought for us. As a former educator, I know Sherrod has been on our side in the fight for pension security and the dignity of work. I know I can trust Sherrod.

• Ohioans can’t trust Bernie Moreno to represent us, because he’ll keep doing what he’s always done: building lie upon lie while putting Ohioans last.

• On the campaign trail, Bernie Moreno has been caught in lie after lie that makes it crystal clear he is only out for himself, not Ohioans.

• Moreno lies about selling the Chinese-made Buick Envision. But the truth is, as a car salesman, Moreno sold the Buick Envision, a car that was always made in China and not the United States. While the Lordstown plant was shutting down here in the Valley, Bernie was lining his own pockets, selling a car made in China.

• Moreno has shown a pattern of lying on the campaign trail, whether it’s lying about escaping socialism, shutting down Cleveland State’s Confucius Institute, building his car dealership business all on his own, or his phony “rags-to-riches” story that he grew up “lower middle class” and “came here with absolutely nothing.”

• The truth is Bernie “Pants-On-Fire” Moreno has lied over and over in a calculated attempt to reinvent himself to fool us into giving him our vote.

• Moreno doesn’t respect Ohioans enough to tell us the truth. He’d rather pander to us by lying to our faces. He will say whatever he thinks he needs to say to win, with no regard for the truth.

• By lying to us time and time again, Moreno has made it clear he is wrong for Ohioans and can’t be trusted to represent us.

Columbus, OH – After reporting revealed last week that Moreno lied about “learn[ing] English from watching Ronald Reagan’s speeches” and that “the timeline doesn’t make sense,” Moreno must answer questions about the “string of inconsistencies” “dogg[ing]” his campaign. Moreno owes Ohioans answers on a number of lies, including attempts to “turn himself into someone he is not,”  the “signature pitch” of his campaign, and other “dubious claims.”

Questions Moreno must answer about the lies “dogg[ing] his campaign”:

1. Why are you claiming on the campaign trail that you had a “lower-middle-class status” and lived a “bootstraps story,” when your family was actually “rich and politically connected,” lived in a luxury oceanfront condo, and “never completely left behind” your wealth and status?

2. Why did you claim you “didn’t take handouts” when reporting shows you got your dealership at a steep discount? Will you make documents around your 2005 insider deal available?

3. Why are you lying to Ohio workers by claiming you never sold Chinese-made SUVs? Will you apologize to Ohio workers who have criticized you for contributing to their jobs being “shipped overseas” and “hurt[ing] Mahoning Valley workers and families?”

4. Why are you lying about shutting down Cleveland State’s Confucius Institute?

5. Why are you lying about escaping socialism?

6. Why are you lying about bringing 5G access to Cleveland?

7. Why are you lying about learning English from Ronald Reagan’s speeches?

Columbus, OH – Three separate times in the past week, Bernie Moreno has doubled down in support of a national abortion ban that would overturn the will of Ohio voters.

Let’s rewind:

Last Wednesday, Moreno confirmed “he still believes in national legislation” to ban abortion.

The next day, Moreno said his stance on abortion is “crystal, crystal clear” and “has not changed.” Moreno has previously said he is “100% pro-life with no exceptions” and “absolute pro-life, no exceptions.”

And yesterday, Moreno said “there’s some things we can do federally” to ban abortion – marking the third time in under a week that Moreno has reiterated his support for a national abortion ban.

Five Facts About Bernie Moreno’s Record Of Looking Out For Himself, Not Ohioans

Columbus, OH – Bernie Moreno has shown Ohioans over and over that he is only looking out for himself – whether it’s the “dubious claims” “dogg[ing]” him on the campaign trail, his record of “stiffing workers” and “shredding evidence” to get out of paying his employees, or his support for a national abortion ban that would overturn the will of Ohioans who voted to protect abortion rights last year.

Here’s what you need to know about Moreno’s heavy baggage and record that makes it clear he only “look[s] out for himself” and “can’t be trusted” to fight for Ohioans:

1. Moreno refused to pay his workers the overtime they earned, then deliberately destroyed evidence he was legally required to keep to get out of it. Moreno was found liable for wage theft by a jury – forcing Moreno to pay over $400,000 in damages to his employees and settle over a dozen similar wage theft cases. Moreno’s campaign continues to be clouded by lawsuits that shed further light on how he mistreated his employees.

2. Moreno has faced significant scrutiny over lies he’s told on the campaign trail – including lying about selling Chinese-made cars that contributed to Ohio auto workers losing their jobs, lying about growing up “lower-middle-class,” lying about “escaping” socialism, lying about learning English from Ronald Reagan’s speeches, and more.

3. Moreno would vote for a national abortion ban that would overturn the will of Ohioans and has said he is “100% pro-life with no exceptions.” Moreno also called the overturning of Roe v. Wade a “monumental victory” and opposes protecting a woman’s right to access contraception, including birth control pills.

4. Moreno is not the outsider he claims to be. Moreno exploited his “inside” political connections, hefty campaign contributions, and public board appointments for years to steer government contracts and taxpayer dollars toward his businesses – leading Moreno to ultimately cash out for “at least $5 million.”

5. Moreno opposed the bipartisan bill to secure the border and won’t work across the aisle for Ohioans.  Moreno opposed the bipartisan border security bill – which was backed by border patrol agents – and said he “would have opposed” the bipartisan FEND Off Fentanyl Act. When asked how he would work across the aisle to deliver for Ohioans, Moreno said he “reject[ed]” the question. In response, Moreno was slammed for having “no real interest” in advocating for Ohioans and being “intent on adding to [the] problem” in Washington.

• Bernie Moreno supports a national abortion ban that would overturn the will of Ohioans who voted overwhelmingly to protect abortion rights last year.

• Moreno said he is “100% pro-life with no exceptions” and that he is “absolute pro-life, no exceptions.”

• Moreno opposes protecting a woman’s right to access contraception, including birth control pills. Moreno opposes federal protections for IVF and called IVF a “non-issue” a week after the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that prompted clinics to halt IVF treatments.

• Moreno voted to ban abortion without exceptions for rape or incest in Ohio last year by voting against Issue 1.
