November 15, 2023
Columbus, OH – Today, the Ohio Democratic Party released the following statement to mark the two-year anniversary of enactment of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that is already delivering for Ohio, thanks to the leadership of Ohio Democrats.
“Thanks to the leadership of Sherrod Brown, Joyce Beatty, Shontel Brown, Marcy Kaptur, Greg Landsman and Emilia Sykes, Ohio is rebuilding our roads and bridges with American workers and American-made materials. While the other side is laser-focused on taking away Ohioans’ rights and freedoms, we’re working every day to deliver for working families on the issues that matter most. Whether by rebuilding bridges, fixing roads or expanding broadband internet, Ohio Democrats are moving Ohio forward,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chair Elizabeth Walters.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Act:
- Invests $9.9 billion in Ohio’s roads and bridges: Already, more than $7 billion has been announced to help improve Ohio’s roads and bridges, with nearly $10 billion expected to come to Ohio over five years in federal investments.
- Allocates $794 million for high-speed internet: More than 180,000 homes in Ohio lack access to high-speed internet infrastructure. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Act will help connect Ohioans with high-speed, broadband internet so they can go to school, connect to work or reach out to a loved one.
- Ensures safe, clean drinking water for Ohio families: Ohio has secured more than $650 million to provide clean, safe drinking water to Ohioans across the state.
- Funds $100 million in airport improvements: Ohio has received more than $109 million to improve our state’s airports.
