Ohio Dems secured $794 million to connect 180,000 homes in Ohio to high-speed internet infrastructure.

As the last few years have shown us, a reliable internet connection is a necessity, not a luxury. We need broadband internet access to work, to attend school, to have access to health care, and stay connected with loved ones. Nearly one out of every five Ohio homes does not have internet access. And in Montgomery County, 6% of households don’t have access to high-speed internet.

We fought to pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that expands broadband connectivity across the country, while Republicans from 21 states voted against it. Here’s how Democrats deliver on broadband internet:

  • Passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which includes $794 million for high-speed internet for millions of Ohioans to access the internet for free.

Democrats are focused on bridging this gap to get all of Ohio connected, rolling out the Affordable Connectivity Program to serve millions of Americans.
