Ohio Democratic Party Seeks Records on Bill Attacking Unemployment Insurance

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Democratic Party today submitted a public records request demanding that Ohio House Speaker Rosenberger and Rep. Barbara Sears turn over all information relating to the development and introduction of House Bill 394, legislation attacking Ohio workers through a draconian reduction of unemployment insurance.

“This one-sided attack on working families came out-of-the-blue and is being rushed through the legislature,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. “Ohioans need to know who is behind this orchestrated effort to hurt those who are already struggling economically — if the legislature won’t come clean on the origins of this bill, we’ll do it for them.”
