CINCINNATI — There’s no mercy rule in politics, but if there were, Steve Chabot would be asking for an ending to a week when he voted against funding for the U.S. Postal Service, was called out by his opponent, Kate Schroder, and then his own sister for that terrible vote and impotently raged against an ad that accurately notes his former campaign manager is under federal investigation.
“Steve Chabot loves to sling mud, but the second someone points out how out of touch he’s become — from his district and his own campaign, apparently — Chabot cries foul,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. “It’s ‘silly season’ indeed. The voters of Ohio’s 1st Congressional District deserve better from their elected representative. They deserve a public servant who will work hard for them — they need Kate Schroder.”
