MANSFIELD — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown today endorsed Ron Abrams for mayor of Mansfield citing his previous experience and bold vision to grow the city.
“It is an honor to endorse Ron Abrams to be mayor of Mansfield, my hometown,” said Sen. Brown. “Ron’s experience and drive will advance his work to attract jobs to our region, improve our infrastructure and revitalize our downtown. I look forward to working with him to make Mansfield an even better place to live and work.”
With more than 40 years experience in the public sector, which includes leading the Ohio Association of Community Colleges and service on the board of the Mansfield-Richland Chamber of Commerce, Abrams has received wide support from Republicans, Democrats and Independents because of his ability to get the job done.
Dr. Abrams has been endorsed by numerous business leaders including: Ed Olson, former Richland County Commissioner; Rick Taylor, President of Jay Industries; John Fernyak, President of Engwiller Properties; Marianne Cooper, Executive Director of Richland Academy and John Siegenthaler, President of Lind Media Company. Abrams has also received endorsements from labor unions including: Ironworkers Local 550, F.O.P Lodge 32, Ohio AFL-CIO, AFSCME, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, United Auto Workers, United Brotherhood Of Carpenters Local 735 and the United Steelworkers Local 8530.
