COLUMBUS — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown today endorsed Paula Hicks-Hudson for mayor of Toledo citing her remarkable leadership to make Toledo one of the best cities in Ohio.
“Mayor Hicks-Hudson’s leadership is needed to address water quality issues, improve Toledo’s infrastructure and promote economic development,” said Brown. “Throughout her career, she has shown a commitment to social and economic justice, and her advocacy will help to continue to strengthen Toledo for generations to come.”
Since declaring her candidacy for mayor, Paula Hicks-Hudson has received wide support from numerous local organizations and labor unions including AFSCME, Greater Northwest Ohio AFL-CIO, United Auto Workers, SEIU 1199, IBEW Local Union 8, UFCW, Laborers’ Local 500, Carpenters Local 351, CWA Local 4319, UA Local 50, Retail Wholesale Department Store Union, Sheet Metal Workers Local 33, Ironworkers Local 55 and the Toledo Police Command Association.
