Ohio Young Black Democrats Statement on 2015 Election Results

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Young Black Democrats released the following statement from OYBD President Dontavius Jarrells on the 2015 election results:

“This week the Ohio Young Black Democrats were thrilled to see young African-American candidates win in races all across the state — from Jaiza Page and Shannon Hardin, who both won re-election to Columbus City Council; to Councilman Joel Fleurima, who won re-election in Chillicothe; to Jason Russell, who won his first campaign for South Euclid City Council; and Julius Oliver and T.J. Rodgers, who will be serving together on Youngstown City Council next year.

“All of these candidates will be amazing public officials who will serve their communities and represent the rich diversity of our great state. These leaders are the future of our state and the future of our Party.”
