New Report: DeWine Is Ducking His Duty to Protect Taxpayer Dollars

COLUMBUS — The new report on the state’s failure to recover $33.3 million in improper Medicaid payments is yet another example of Mike DeWine’s refusal to carry out the his obligation to safeguard taxpayer funds.

“DeWine’s office has an entire unit devoted to cracking down on Medicaid fraud, but he’s still dropping the ball on recouping $33 million owed to Ohio taxpayers,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. “Maybe if DeWine spent less time attacking Planned Parenthood in the courts — and losing — he’d do a better job protecting taxpayer money and battling the state’s tragic opioid crisis.”
