Justices Sharon Kennedy And Judi French Double Down On Anti-Worker Decision

COLUMBUS — Ohio Supreme Court Justices Sharon Kennedy and Judi French doubled down on their anti-worker decision in Lunsford v. Sterilite and joined two of their fellow GOP justices in denying a motion for reconsideration of their earlier 4-3 decision, which allows Ohio employers to conduct mandatory drug testing using the “direct observation method.”

“If voters weren’t sure before, Justices Sharon Kennedy and Judi French have now made it crystal clear whose side they’re on — and it’s not the side of Ohio workers and sexual assault victims,” said Ohio Democratic Party Communications Director Kirstin Alvanitakis. “Donna Lunsford was humiliated and her privacy violated by a company where she worked for more than 20 years, and French and Kennedy don’t think she should have the chance to argue her case in front of a jury. We need new justices on the court to protect victims and stand up for workers. That’s why we need to elect Judge Jennifer Brunner and Judge John P. O’Donnell to the Ohio Supreme Court.”

This weekend the Ohio Democratic Party launched a new digital ad featuring Youngstown native Ed O’Neill and Lunsford.
