Organizing for Ohio Fall Campus Internship Program
Summary: In 2023, Ohio became the nation’s foremost battleground for protecting abortion rights – winning a ballot initiative fight that gave hope to Democrats across the country. In 2024, Ohio will be the center of the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Ohio must re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown, a champion for workers and the deciding vote on critical legislation. This year will also offer the chance to take control of the Ohio Supreme Court, make gains in the state legislature, and defend three battleground congressional seats.
The Ohio Democratic Coordinated Campaign, Organizing For Ohio, will be executing a 9-week paid internship program. Interns will start on a rolling basis after September 10th, 2024.
Interns must have the following qualifications:
- Passion for progressive values and electing Democrats up and down the ballot
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and employ creative problem solving
- Good communication skills and relationship building skills
- Willingness to work in a field office, on campus, and in a virtual environment Flexible, adaptable, and solutions oriented
- Must have access to a cell phone
Description of Duties
Interns will work 10-15 hours per week and will be paid at a rate of $15 an hour, and be responsible for the following duties:
● Direct Voter Contact (door knocking, phonebanking, voter registration)
● Volunteer Management (recruitment, training)
● Event Attendance and Facilitation
● Other Responsibilities as Assigned
