In case you missed it… Democratic elected officials in Toledo, Youngstown and Newark yesterday reminded Ohioans that the deadline to sign up for affordable health coverage is this Saturday, Dec. 15.
Mahoning County Commissioner Carol Rimedio-Righetti and Youngstown City Councilman Mike Ray reminded Valley residents about the importance of signing up for health coverage before Saturday’s deadline.
“The current administration in Washington has cut the advertising budget for the Affordable Care Act by 90 percent. So folks don’t know, and they’re not being reminded, that they should be enrolling — and the deadline is fast approaching,” said Youngstown City Councilman Mike Ray. “People might think, ‘I’m not sick,’ or ‘I’m young and invincible.’ But you could trip off a curb. Something could happen unexpectedly.”
“It’s important that we have health coverage. People need to realize that this is one of the essentials you definitely need,” said Mahoning County Commissioner Carol Rimedio-Righetti.
Lucas County Commissioner Carol Contrada, state Rep.-elect Lisa Sobecki, and state Rep.-elect Paula Hicks-Hudson gathered in Toledo to remind uninsured residents in northwest Ohio to get covered at HealthCare.gov.
“It is so important that we have a healthy community. One of the best ways to have a healthy community is to use preventative health care measures that you can get by having insurance. The Affordable Care Act will provide that,” said state Rep.-elect Paula Hicks-Hudson.
WTOL: “Local leaders came together this morning to remind folks to sign up… 80 percent of those who #GetCovered at HealthCare.gov can get a plan for $75 or less per month.”
Shout out to Newark City Councilmembers Jeremy Blake and Sean Fennell, who made this video urging Newark residents to #GetCovered!
