COLUMBUS — The Ohio Democratic Party today announced that Barack Obama will be the special guest for their annual State Dinner at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Thursday, Oct. 13, one day after the Buckeye State kicks off early voting.

“We’re deeply honored that Barack Obama is taking the time to fire up Ohio Democrats as we enter the final stretch of the 2016 campaign,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. “Ohio Democrats helped to win the White House for Obama twice, and with tens of thousands of active volunteers who are registering new voters, making phone calls and knocking on doors, we are gearing up to do it again. As Ohio goes, so goes the nation, and we are ready to help elect Hillary Clinton as our first woman president, send Ted Strickland to the Senate and boost Democrats up and down the ballot.”

The Ohio Democratic Party’s annual State Dinner is the party’s largest fundraising event, with more than 1,000 attendees. In addition, hundreds of grassroots volunteers will have the opportunity to attend and watch as Obama gets Ohio Democrats fired up and ready to go.
