VOTE EARLY BY MAIL

Vote By Mail Application Form

Voting by mail is EASY! You don't need a reason to vote absentee as long as you are legally registered to vote. Here is what to do:

  1. Click the link to the right for an official vote-by-mail application form. Simply fill in your information. (You will need to include one of the following: (a) your Ohio driver's license number; (b) the last four digits of your social security number; or (c) a copy of your valid photo ID, military ID, or current (within the last 12 months) utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other government document other than a voter registration notification mailed by your Board of Elections.) Clicking 'submit' will give you a printable application, complete with the address to mail it to.

  2. Return the application form by mail to the address on your printable application, or in person to your county board of elections. Although the deadline to apply for absentee ballots is noon on November 3rd, it is highly recommended that you submit the application as soon as possible.

  3. Then your board of elections will send you a ballot. When you get it, be sure to follow the instructions. Don't forget to sign the ballot. Leave the stub attached to the ballot—do not rip it off. Check to make sure you have sufficient postage - it can often need more than one stamp. Send it back postmarked no later than November 5! (NOTE: Once you request a mail ballot, you have to vote with that ballot. If you request a ballot and then try to vote in person, you will have to vote by provisional ballot.)
