In just one year, millions of Americans have already begun to feel the positive effects of the Affordable Care Act.
With unprecedented patient protections and benefits, families no longer need to worry that their children could be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition or that they could be denied critical care after hitting a lifetime limit. Seniors are now eligible for free preventive care and wellness visits with their doctor, and they are paying less out of pocket for their prescription drugs.
Throughout the health care debate, OFA supporters were vocal and active in their support for health insurance reform. We are proud of the work we did to help make the Affordable Care Act law, and we will continue to stand and fight with President Obama to protect the law from Republicans’ partisan and political attempts to defund and repeal it.
OFA supporters played an instrumental role in helping pass the Affordable Care Act. In the last ten days before Congress passed the Affordable Care Act, OFA volunteers made nearly 500,000 calls and sent 324,000 letters to Congress, and they held nearly 1,200 health care-related events with more than 10,000 attendees.
