COLUMBUS, OHIO – Today, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern released the following statement on Josh Mandel’s refusal to support the Paycheck Fairness Act:
“After returning from yesterday’s 5-hour fundraising blitz with Washington insiders and D.C. lobbyists, Josh Mandel’s complete and utter silence on the Paycheck Fairness Act is deafening. Like his opposition to the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, Josh Mandel’s refusal to help women fight for equal pay is a reminder to all Ohioans that he’s more concerned with pleasing D.C. lobbyists and party bosses than doing what’s right and fair. Between his refusal to support Sherrod Brown’s bipartisan bill to crack down on China’s unfair currency manipulation, Brown’s bill to prevent federally-subsidized Stafford loan interest rates from doubling, and his silence on the Paycheck Fairness Act, Josh Mandel continues to cement his standing as a politician Ohioans can’t trust.”
