Ohio Democratic Chairman Chris Redfern Condemns “Joe the Plumber” Campaign Video

COLUMBUS, OHIO - Today, in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District campaign, Samuel Wurzelbacher, aka “Joe the Plumber,” released a vile campaign video that states:

“In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were exterminated. In 1939, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, 6 million Jews and 7 million others, unable to defend themselves, were exterminated. I love America. “ – Wurzelbacher for Congress

In response to the campaign video, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern released the following statement:

“His name is not Joe, he’s not a plumber, and now we know Wurzelbacher’s not a historian, either.

“Wurzelbacher’s ad linking gun control to the Holocaust is incredibly offensive, and stinks of the worst kind of radical, ideological extremism that has plagued the Tea Party over the last few years. This is exactly the sort of garbage you might expect to find from a fringe group, but unfortunately for the voters of Ohio’s 9th district, this trash is coming from the Republican candidate for Congress.

“Not long ago, Governor Mitt Romney said he supported Wurzelbacher, and Josh Mandel campaigned with Wurzelbacher in Perrysburg earlier this month. I hope these two men, and other Republicans and Democrats, will join me today in condemning the despicable actions of this very desperate man.”
