Ohio Democratic Party Statement in Recognition of Black History Month

COLUMBUS – In recognition of Black History Month, Ohio Democratic Party Chairman Chris Redfern issued the following statement:

“This month, we celebrate the history of the African American community and the community’s contributions to our nation. We simply cannot talk about the history of America without recognizing the fundamental role African Americans have played in shaping our nation, because African Americans have made the United States stronger through their contributions to all aspects of American life. Every day, African Americans are working to help create a fairer and more just country.

“The struggles that hit all communities often hit the African American community even harder. We must work as a country to make sure that all citizens of our great nation, regardless of race, have an opportunity to achieve the American dream.”
