Ohio Treasurer Continues Trend of Missing Deposit Board Meetings, Fundraiser Held on Same Day
Jan 26, 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The group campaigning to get Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel a U.S. Senate seat says he was attending a $500-a-plate fundraiser in Washington, continuing his trend of skipping meetings of the board that handles billions in state deposits.
Mandel chairs the Ohio Board of Deposit that determines which banks hold state money. It met Thursday morning, two hours after the start time of the fundraiser. The first-term Republican has attended none of the group’s monthly meetings.
